Updates from last year’s curriculum:

The Sheboygan Theatre Company is thrilled to continue STC Class ACT for its third year. Registration is now open and forms can be requested via email through Tom.

In 2015-2016, STC offered the following classes: Acting for Teens (ages 13 – 18), Acting for Adults (19 & up), Musical Theatre for Teens (13 – 18), and Musical Theatre for Adults (19 & up). Classes will be Monday (Musical Theatre) and Tuesday (Acting) afternoons from 4 – 5 p.m. (teens) and  5:15 – 6:15 p.m. (adults), beginning February 27th and running weekly through April 25th (we will be off the week of March 27th to allow for SASD’s spring break).

A few changes from last year that will stay in place:

  • The semester has eight instead of six classes, in response to student feedback; hopefully we can use that time to give more individual attention to students.
  • Due partially to scheduling and partially for a desire to keep classes as interesting as possible, we rotated our instructors this year. In addition to our amazing staff of teaching artists, we’re thrilled to add Jake Caceres and to welcome back Lisa Golda.
  • Despite adding two classes, we are keeping costs the same as previous years. Each class is $60 for the semester for the general public, and $30 per semester if you have been a participant with STC since Fall 2014.
  • If you are interested in being involved, we have an ad hoc Education Committee to oversee Class ACT’s growth, including what we hope to be a sizable expansion of the program over the next two to three years. If you’re interesting in joining the committee, please contact Tom for more information.

If you have any questions, please call Tom at 920.459.3779, message us through the “Contact Us” page of the website, or by emailing Tom at tberger@sasd.net.

Also coming in the spring will be the inaugural production of STC Kids Theatre, How I Became a Pirate (performance license pending), the hilarious one-hour musical for all ages (with adults performing for children) based on the award-winning bestseller of the same name. Pirate, if approved, will play Saturday mornings at 11 am May 6th, 13th, and 20th.
